The Roxy opened on 7 April 1930 – a grand occasion, where the capacity audience enjoyed a screening of The Black Watch. The theatre was named after the largest picture theatre in the world, The Roxy Theatre in New York. Today, it's a multi-function centre featuring regular movie screenings, live theatre and entertainment, and is a versatile event space.
